Catching Up with Western New England’s Four Coach of the Year Award Winners

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (July 14, 2016) – 2015-16 was a banner year for coaches at Western New England University, as Dan Gomez (baseball), Keith Emery (football), Lori Mayhew (softball) and John Klepacki (men's lacrosse) were all recognized as the conference Coach of the Year in their respective sport.

Here is a breakdown of what each coach and his/her team accomplished last season:

Dan Gomez
• 30-11 record (13-3 CCC)
• Program-best 8-0 start to the season
• CCC regular season champion (shared)
• Six All-CCC/Four All-Region selections
• CCC Coach of the Year, ECAC New England DIII Coach of the Year

Keith Emery
10-1 record (7-0 NEFC)
• First undefeated regular season in program history (10-0)
• NEFC champion/NCAA participant
• 15 All-NEFC/Four All-Region selections
• No. 22 final ranking in AFCA Poll
• NEFC Coach of the Year, Gridiron Club of Greater Boston DIII Coach of the Year, ECAC New England DIII Coach of the Year

Lori Mayhew
23-18 record (15-3 CCC)
• CCC regular season champion
• Six All-CCC/Two All-Region selections
• Reached 500-win milestone
• CCC Coach of the Year (for the second consecutive season)

John Klepacki
• 15-4 record (8-0 CCC)
• Defeated three nationally ranked opponents
• CCC regular season & tournament champion/NCAA participant
• 13 All-CCC/Six All-Region/Four USILA Honorable Mention All-America selections
• Reached 200-win milestone
• No. 12 final ranking in USILA Poll
• CCC Coach of the Year, ECAC New England DIII Coach of the Year
