Become a Golden Bear

RECRUITING CHECKLIST

→  Introduce Yourself – Contact Coaching Staff and Exchange Information.

If you are interested in finding out more about one of our 19 varsity athletic programs, contact the respective head coach, complete one of our online recruiting questionnaires, and provide specific information (e.g. intended major, upcoming camps or tournaments, coaching references, etc.)

→ Come to campus.

Make an unofficial visit to Western New England to tour campus, meet with coaching staff, and discuss your specific sport’s recruiting timeline.

→ See the Golden Bears play.

Consider attending one of our home matches and seeing the team play. This is an excellent opportunity to tour our state-of-the-art athletic facilities and evaluate the level of competition, style of play, coaching staff, and culture within that program. Practices are also a great opportunity to interact with players and coaches and get a feel for the day-to-day excitement of life as a collegiate student-athlete. Golden Bear teams compete in traditional and nontraditional seasons.

→ Provide opportunities for our coaches to evaluate you.

Notify coaches of upcoming camps, showcases, or tournaments that you will be participating in. Send a game or highlight film of you playing in a competitive environment. Discuss the format of your video with the coaching staff. Many of our current student-athletes have been evaluated multiple times by our coaching staff in different environments to ensure a proper fit.

→ Update often! Communicate consistently with our coaching staff.

Provide frequent and relevant updates throughout your high school career and college search. Keep our coaching staff informed of when and where you will be playing, especially during peak evaluation periods.
