SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (July 27, 2018) – Nine members of the Western New England University men’s and women’s tennis teams earned Scholar-Athlete honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the organization announced on Tuesday. 

Sophomore Morgan Schrader posted a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles in Western New England's 5-4 loss to Hamline on Thursday.

Sophomore Morgan Schrader picked up wins in both singles and doubles play, while classmate Rachel Bauer sealed Western New England's 5-1 victory over Salve Regina on Saturday.

Junior Morgan Schrader posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles, but the Golden Bears fell to JWU in their season opener on Sunday.

Junior Petra Martinelli posted a 2-6, 7-4, 10-5 win at No. 5 singles in Western New England's 6-3 loss to Eastern Nazarene on Saturday.
