Jenna Leuck & Brianna Roath Earn Weekly Honors from the CCC

Duo led Western New England to 3-1 week  

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 17, 2016) – Two members of the Western New England University volleyball team have earned weekly honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), the league office announced this afternoon.

Senior setter Jenna Leuck (Dumont, N.J.) was named Player of the Week and junior Brianna Roath (Jackson, N.J.) was recognized as Libero of the Week following their efforts in leading the Golden Bears to a 3-1 record in four matches last week.

Leuck averaged 9.44 assists, 3.56 digs and 0.94 kills per set, topping the 30-assist mark in all four matches with pair of 40-assist efforts. She opened her week with 42 assists, 17 digs and seven kills in a 3-2 win over Salve Regina on Tuesday, and two matches later had 33 assists and a career-high 25 digs in a 3-1 win over Wheaton on Saturday. In Western New England's second match on Saturday, she dished out a career-best 45 assists to go with nine digs and two block assists in a 3-1 loss to Western Connecticut State.

Roath averaged 6.00 digs per set and posted double-digit dig performances in all four matches. She opened the week with a career-best 42 digs in Western New England's five-set win over the Seahawks, and followed that up with 14 on Thursday in a 3-0 victory at Westfield State. Roath wrapped up her week with a combined 40 digs on Saturday as the Golden Bears split matches with Wheaton and WestConn.

Western New England (15-8, 4-1 CCC) returns to action on Wednesday, when the Golden Bears host Endicott for their Dig Pink Rally match at 7 p.m.
