Suprenant Field

Suprenant Field is the home facility for the Western New England University men's and women's soccer teams.

Suprenant Field is a 120-by-80-yard natural grass field and is widely recognized as one of the premier playing surfaces in New England. A state-of-the-art scoreboard, cutting-edge team shelters, and a 500-seat spectator grandstand create a stadium atmosphere and home field advantage that is second to none.

The facility also includes two 60-by-60-yard practice fields with four standard goals and eight mini-goals for technical shooting drills.

Western New England has hosted numerous NCAA, Eastern College Athletic Conference and CCC tournament games, and has drawn up to 1,000 fans.

Since 2004, Suprenant Field has played host to a remarkable 25 conference tournament matches and WNE has been the top seed and host in eight of those conference tournaments. The Golden Bears hosted their first-ever NCAA Tournament game in November 2007, a 2-1 overtime victory over Johnson & Wales University. Western New England hosted three NCAA Tournament men's matches in 2011.

Western New England has also enjoyed a winning home-field advantage on the women's side as the Golden Bears have won 56.1 percent of their games at Suprenant Field since entering the CCC, including four winning seasons at home. On Oct. 30, 2013, the team battled nationally No. 19 ranked Roger Williams to a 1-1 double overtime draw here.

The WNE women's program historically is among the conference leaders in attendance and last season ranked in the upper half of NCAA Division III.

Suprenant Field was named by D. Joseph St. Germain in honor of his grandmother, Harriet Suprenant, as the land served as a gateway for outdoor athletic facilities on campus beginning in 1979.
