Christina Delude Named CCC Offensive Player of the Week
Belchertown, Mass. native assisted on both goals in Western New England's 2-1 win over Eastern Nazarene on Saturday
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (September 19, 2016) – Junior midfielder Christina Delude (Belchertown, Mass.) of the Western New England University women's soccer team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Delude assisted on both of Western New England's goals on Saturday in the Golden Bears' 2-1 victory over Eastern Nazarene College at Suprenant Field. She sent in a cross that junior Maddie Morgan (Upton, Mass.) finished for the game's first goal in the 31st minute, before setting up senior Brooke Labrie (Granby, Mass.) for the game-winner with 3:26 remaining in regulation. Delude also put a pair of shots on goal in Western New England's 2-0 loss at Mount Holyoke on Tuesday.
Western New England (3-4-1, 1-1 CCC) will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon, as the Golden Bears are set to host Elms College at 4 p.m. in non-conference action.
