Volleyball Eliminated From CCC Tournament with 3-1 Loss to Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. – The seventh-seeded Western New England University volleyball team was eliminated from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament with a 3-1 (23-25, 25-11, 25-12, 25-11) loss to second-seeded Roger Williams University in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday night at the RWU Campus Rec Center.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior outside hitter Ashley Matthews (Salem, N.H.) and senior middle blocker Cassandra Holmes (Ellington, Conn.) of the Western New England University volleyball team were both recognized when the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its major award winner and All-CCC selections on Monday night.

(October 22, 2019) – After winning the first two sets, the Western New England University volleyball team fell victim to a Gordon College rally as the Fighting Scots came back to claim a 3-2 (21-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-19, 22-20) victory over the Golden Bears on Tuesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Bennett Center.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 19, 2019) – Playing in its final tri-match of the season, the Western New England University volleyball team split contests with Colby-Sawyer College and Westfield State University on Saturday afternoon at the Alumni Healthful Living Center. The Golden Bears opened the day with a three-set loss (25-18, 25-23, 25-19) to the Chargers, before rebounding with a 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-20, 25-19) victory over Westfield State.

Smith Court. The Golden Bears defeated the Cadets, 3-1 (23-25, 25-14, 25-14, 25-17), before falling to the Rams, 3-2 (17-25, 25-18, 25-18, 14-25, 15-13).
