Marykate Drinkwater was hired as the first ever Western New England women's ice hockey assistant coach for the 2021-2022 season. Drinkwater moved into the Graduate Assistant Coach in 2022...

Drinkwater previously played for the Nor'easters of the University of New England from 2016-2019.

The Franklin, Massachusetts native played in 107 games with UNE scoring 13 goals while picking up 17 assists, good for 30 career points. Prior to her play with the Nor'easters, Drinkwater was a member of the Worcester Academy girl's ice hockey team as well as the Franklin High School hockey team, captaining Franklin High for a season as a sophomore. 

Drinkwater graduate UNE with a degree in health, wellness, & occupational studies, with a minor in coaching.
