Bio

Lori Mayhew-Wood was elevated to Associate Athletic Director at her alma mater in July 2018, after serving as an Assistant Athletic Director since January 2015. She also holds the role of Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at Western New England. 

Mayhew-Wood became a full-time administrator after coaching the Western New England softball program to unprecedented success for 22 seasons from 1998-2018. She led the Golden Bears to seven conference championships (five GNAC, two CCC) and seven NCAA Tournament appearances with an overall record of 567-315-2 (.643). 

In addition to retaining her duties as equipment director, Mayhew-Wood is also responsible for operations and facility management, and overseeing game management. 

Additionally, Mayhew-Wood serves as the University’s Title IX Coordinator, assisting with University response, prevention, and education initiatives pursuant to Title IX and related statutes and regulations.

The Westfield, Mass. native earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Western New England in 1995, before obtaining a master of education degree in sport management at Springfield College in 2003.

Mayhew-Wood was inducted into the University’s Downes Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, becoming the first softball player to join this elite group. Her 2003 team that reached the NCAA Quarterfinals was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2008.

Mayhew-Wood lives in Springfield with her husband Brian.
