Bio

Ian Simpson joined the Western New England men's ice hockey program for his first season that completed in 2022. Prior to joining the Golden Bears, Simpson was an assistant coach under current WNE coach Mike Young at Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts. 

Simpson, an Ottawa, Ontario, Canada native, spent three seasons coaching and serving as a skills instructor in the Boston area.  Prior to that, Simpson spent eight years coaching in various leagues throughout the U.S. Northeast and in Canada, including the CCHL2 in Eastern Ontario.

Simpson in a 2005 graduate of the University of Ottawa and obtained his MBA from Northumbria University in 2010.
