Bio

Steve Posner wrapped up his first season as head coach of the men's tennis team in 2022, completing his first full season as the head coach after previously serving as an associate head coach of the program for the last four year. Posner is set to begin his second season as Head Coach of WNE in 2023. 

In his first full season with the Golden Bears, Posner led WNE to a 6-8 record, including 3-5 in CCC play. Posner picked up his first win as head coach on March 14 against Carroll University and went on to collect his first conference victory on April 2 vs. Suffolk University. The Golden Bears would make it to the quarterfinals of the CCC Tournament before bowing out under the guidance of Posner. 

Posner was named Head Men’s Tennis Coach in the fall of 2021 after serving as the Associate Head Tennis Coach since 2017. 

Posner is highly regarded and well decorated in the field of sports. Prior to his time as associate head coach at WNE, Posner was the Director of Summer Gymnastics Camps & Clinics at Springfield College from 2003-2017. Posner has worked with gymnastics since 1984 where he started the Stonyhill Gymnastics School. Posner has received numerous coaching achievements in gymnastics which include though not limited to: Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, USA Gymnastics Collegiate Coach of the Year, and NCAA Eastern Regional Coach of the Year. Posner also worked as the Director of Summer Tennis Camps at Springfield College from 2003-2004. 

Posner has received many athletic achievements in gymnastics which include NCAA Gymnastics Team Champions at the University of California Berkeley, USA Gymnastics Elite National Team Member, NCAA Division I All American in the floor exercise, and a Gold Medalist at the World Maccabiah Games. 

On top of the accolades inside the Gymnasium, Posner has been a successful publications writer, specifically in sports leadership and coaching. Posner has publicized books and readings in Sports Leadership, Sports Management, Coaching, as well as sticking to his grass roots in gymnastics. Posner has also presented to many different Colleges and Universities around the world on Sports Leadership. 

Posner lives in Springfield, Mass.
