Bio

Jon Harris enters his first season as head coach in the fall of 2021 after completing 18 seasons as an assistant coach for the men's and women's cross country programs at Western New England University.

He was a four-year runner and three-year captain for the Golden Bears. Harris was a member of the Western New England squad that returned to varsity competition in 1999 and helped lead the men's team to its first GNAC Conference Championship in 2002. 

Harris is a native of Monson, Mass., where he has also been the head coach of the high school boys' track & field program since 2009 and the girl's program since 2019. In 2017, he coached the Monson boy's team from one of the smallest schools in the region to a Western Massachusetts Team Championship title. His programs have also produced many successful collegiate athletes at all levels of competition.

Harris graduated from the University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and attained his Level 1 Certification from USA Track & Field in 2008.
