Football Hosting Toy Drive During Saturday’s Game

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Western New England University football team will host a toy drive benefitting Baystate Children's Hospital during Saturday's regular season finale against Husson.

The toy drive, which was started by the football program's Team IMPACT teammate Ben Manzi, benefits kids currently receiving care at Baystate Children's Hospital in Springfield. It is being organized by Team BAM! For Ben and Together with Tony.

Team BAM! for Ben organizes fundraisers and drives that benefit local children that have cancer, and supports further research on childhood leukemia. Together with Tony celebrates the life of Anthony "Tony" Maschino through volunteering, donations, and raising awareness of childhood cancers with the support of friends, family, and local/online communities.

The drive will collect toys and games, books, arts & crafts, and gift cards. To donate, search 'teamBAMforBen' and 'TogetherWithTony' on Facebook, or email 'teambamforben@gmail.com' and 'togetherwithtony@gmail.com'. Items will be collected through Sunday, November 17th.

On Saturday, the donation drop-off location will be located at the picnic grove closest to Golden Bear Stadium. There will be a table set up to accept donations pre-game, during half time, and post-game.

If you plan on donating, please remember:
• all items must be new
• the hospital cannot accept plush or fabric items
• donations are needed for ages infant through adolescent
