Heather Fecteau Named CCC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 15, 2016) - Senior Heather Fecteau (Biddeford, Maine) of the Western New England University softball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week, the league office announced yesterday.
 
Fecteau powered the Western New England offense last week, batting .727 (8-for-11) with two doubles, four runs and two RBI as the Golden Bears went 2-2 over their first four games in Florida. The senior recorded two hits in all four contests, while playing perfect defense at first base.
 
In the season opener against Plymouth State on Saturday, she went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, a walk and one RBI in a 6-5 setback. Two games later against Plattsburgh State, Fecteau posted a 2-for-2 effort with another double and two runs as the Golden Bears won 12-4 in five innings. She capped her week by going 2-for-3 with an RBI single and a run in Western New England's 11-0 victory over UMass Boston on Sunday night.
 
The Golden Bears (2-4) return to action tomorrow with contests against RPI and Frostburg State at 1 and 3 p.m., respectively, at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida.
