Karl Roberts joined the Western New England University coaching staff as an assistant in July 2017. Roberts serves as a defensive backs coach with the Golden Bears. He took over as Director of Football Operations in 2019.  

Roberts, who graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C. last May with a psychology degree, was a four-year starter at defensive back on the Quakers’ football team. The Charlotte, N.C. native was a two-time All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selection and was voted team co-captain as a senior last fall. Roberts was also a member of Guilford’s 2015 squad that posted a program best 9-1 record. He was selected to participate in the National Bowl senior all-star game at the conclusion of his collegiate career.
