Jessie-Gerelli, Pope Named to New England Hockey Writers Association 2022-23 New England Division III Women’s All-Stars Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 30, 2023) – Reigning CCC Goaltender of the Year Rieley Jessie-Gerelli and reigning CCC Rookie of the Year Maddie Pope have been named to the New England Hockey Writers Association's 2022-2023 Division III Women's All-Star Team. 

Jessie-Gerelli made 18 starts for Western New England this season, playing in nearly 1100:00 minutes between the pipes. The junior dotted a 1.58 GAA, making 632 saves, winning ten games on the year. Jessie-Gerelli collected a .956 save percentage which ranked third overall in the nation and first in the CCC. The Croton-On-Hudson, N.Y. native has supported a .950 save percentage through her first two full seasons with the Golden Bears which sits second in Division III women's ice hockey.  

Maddie Pope was named CCC Rookie of the Year after putting up 24 points on the season, which included a CCC best 15 goals on the season. The Plantation, Florida native collected nine assists on the season and a +17 overall rating. Pope played in all 26 games for the Golden Bears this season, scoring one shorthanded goal, one empty net goal, four game winning goals, one game tying goal and a hat trick at Nichols College in CCC play. Pope tallied 94 total shots during the season. 

The Golden Bears completed the season with a program best 15 wins, finishing 15-8-3 on the season with a 10-6-2 mark in CCC play. Both Jessie-Gerelli and Pope are the first Golden Bears to be named to the New England Hockey Writers Association All-Star Team in program history.
