Women’s Cross Country Finishes 25th at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 21, 2019) – The Western New England University women's cross country team turned in a 25th place finish on Saturday at the 47th Annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational.

The Golden Bears registered a team score of 692 on their way to 25th place in the 37-team field. Holy Cross took home the team title with a score of 83, while Mount Holyoke (92) and WPI (129) rounded out the top-three. Suffolk senior Emily Manfra topped the 263-runner field with a time of 17:51.72 on the five-kilometer course.

Western New England was led by senior Brooke Townsend (Portland, Conn.), who placed 58th overall with a time of 20:04.08.

Junior Samantha Lewis (Goffstown, N.H.) finished 126th and clocked in at 21:06.85, while freshman Marissa Crisafulli (Weymouth, Mass.) posted a time of 21:58.56, good for 167th overall.

Senior Edelinda Baptista (Pawtucket, R.I.) placed 184th with a time of 22:21.51, and freshman Katie Burnham (Monson, Mass.) finished 217th in 23:45.92.
