Bio

Justin Franczek enters his third season as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program at Western New England University in 2017-18. 

Franczek brings over ten years of coaching experience to Colin Tabb’s staff, including six as an assistant with 2015 NCAA Division III Elite 8 participant Trinity College under 2015 NESCAC Coach of the Year James Cosgrove. At Trinity, Franczek was responsible for recruiting, completing scouting reports, breaking down game film, and coordinating film exchange.

Prior to his time in Hartford, Franczek spent two years on 2010 NEWMAC Coach of the Year Charlie Brock’s staff at Springfield College, where he served as recruiting coordinator and implemented preseason and in-season conditioning programs. Additionally, he helped to re-launch the Springfield men’s basketball team’s Dream to Read program, an initiative in which student-athletes volunteered at local elementary schools reading to first, second, and third grade students.

Outside of basketball, Franczek currently serves as a biology teacher at Chicopee Comprehensive High School in Chicopee, Mass.

A 2005 graduate of Springfield College, Franczek earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy and is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Secondary Education from Springfield.
