Men’s Golf Captures CCC Championship
BEVERLY, Mass. (April 26, 2021) – The Western New England University men's golf team captured the 2021 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Monday at the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club in Beverly, Mass.
Western New England with a team score of 621. Endicott finished second with a score of 626, while Nichols finished third with a score of 634. Rounding out the rest of the standings was Roger Williams (647), UNE (652), Wentworth (655), Suffolk (676), and Gordon (717).
The Golden Bears entered Monday with a nine-stroke lead after the first round on Sunday.
Leading the way for the blue and gold was senior Ryan Zogby. Zogby shot a 76 on Sunday, putting him in fourth place, and followed that up with a 75 in round two. His total score 151 put him in second place overall.
Seniors Cameron Cox and Kade Howard finished fourth and fifth overall. Cox finished with a score of 155 (76, 80) while Howard finished one-stroke behind with a total score of 156 (76, 80).
Senior Peter Garlick finished in eleventh place after posting a score of 159 (76, 83), while senior Tyler Sinacola placed 24th after shooting a 168 (81, 87).
