Registration Still Open for 20th Annual Golf Classic!

Registration is now open for the 20th Annual Western New England University Athletics Golf Classic!

This year's Classic will be held on Monday, September 24th at 12:30 p.m. at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, Mass.

The deadline to register is Friday, September 21. Your participation in this event directly benefits our student-athletes!

About the Classic

The Athletics Program at Western New England University is an integral part of the institution and overall development of the student-athlete. Our students compete in 19 varsity sports and two non-NCAA programs. In addition, the University offers an intramural program that reaches the entire campus community.

All of the student-athletes at Western New England University will benefit from your participation in this golf tournament and the auction that follows dinner. The young men and women who compete at the Division III level at Western New England University do so at their own expense, without the benefit of scholarships. They are true student-athletes. This tournament will help ensure their athletic experience.

So, on behalf of all of our athletes, thank you for your support.

A Special Thanks to Richard M. Cassata '80

Each year the Classic honors special individuals who have made a positive impact on Western New England University and the Athletic Family. This year we are honoring Richard Cassata '80. Rich is the Managing Director of Public Finance at Assured Guaranty, a leading provider of financial guaranty insurance.

Prior to joining Assured Guaranty, he spent six years working at Financial Guaranty Insurance Company managing the Secondary Markets and Competitive underwriting desk. Rich was a member of the Golden Bear baseball team during his time at Western New England. Rich has been a longtime supporter of athletics and recreation, with his recent contributions leading to the addition of a functional training room and upgrades to the workout facilities in the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

In addition to his support of Western New England Athletics, Rich and his spouse established the Richard M. and Catherine Cassata Scholarship for students in the College of Business.
