75 Golden Bears Named to CCC Spring Academic All-Conference Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 11, 2019) – Seventy-five Western New England University student-athletes were honored when the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its Spring Academic All-Conference Team on Tuesday afternoon.

In order to be recognized as a member of the CCC Academic All-Conference Team, an athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore academic status.

The CCC's spring list includes student-athletes who participated in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's golf, men's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's tennis, and women's track and field.

Western New England's 75 honorees were among 579 overall Academic All-Conference selections. The Golden Bears finished with the third highest total in the CCC, behind only Salve Regina (76) and Endicott (107).

Western New England's ice hockey team led the way with 14 Academic All-Conference honorees, followed by women's lacrosse (12), baseball (11) and men's lacrosse (10). The women's basketball, men's golf and softball programs all finished with seven qualifiers.  

Included among Western New England's 75 honorees are 17 student-athletes who also garnered All-CCC recognition for their athletic performance.
