Nominations Now Open for 2019 Downes Athletic Hall of Fame Class!
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 13, 2019) - Western New England University is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Downes Athletic Hall of Fame class. Nominations will remain open through Friday, March 15.
The Downes Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1999 to pay tribute to the outstanding student-athletes, contributors, coaches, administrators and teams that have shaped the rich history of Western New England Athletics. It is named in honor of Arthur William "Red" Downes, a member of the Western New England coaching staff and faculty for 45 years who was inducted in the inaugural 1999 class.
Once the nomination process is complete, the Hall of Fame Committee will begin meeting in late March to select the 2018 Hall of Fame Class. Selections will be announced over the summer, with the induction ceremony taking place next fall.
