Western New England Finishes 31st at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

Spooner, Gallo & Monroe lead Golden Bears

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 15, 2018) - The Western New England University men's cross country team ran to a 31st place finish at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday at the Robert Dowd Course. 

With a total of 867 team points, Western New England finished 31st on the day. Southern New Hampshire came out on top with 74 total points, while WPI, American International, Franklin Pierce, and Trinity rounded out the top five. The top finisher overall was Sam Brunnette from Plymouth State, who clocked in with a time of 24:32.02.

Top Performers
Freshman Anthony Spooner (West Bridgewater, Mass.) again led the way for the Golden Bears, placing 154th with a time of 28:44.49. 

Senior Nico Gallo (Ludlow, Mass.) followed in 169th and posted a time of 29:16.19, while junior Adam Monroe (Wilton, N.Y.) placed 178th in 29:31.15.
