Men’s Cross Country Places 26th at UMass Dartmouth Invitational
DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 21, 2019) – The Western New England University men's cross country team ran to a 26th place finish on Saturday at the 47th Annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
The Golden Bears posted a team score of 762 on their way to 26th place in the 36-team field. WPI captured the team title with a score of 61, followed by UMass Lowell (83) and Trinity (88). Trinity senior Weyessa McAlister paced the 257-runner field with a time of 24:46.42 on the five-mile course.
Western New England's top performer was sophomore Anthony Spooner (West Bridgewater, Mass.), who finished 153rd and clocked in with a time of 29:15.97.
Freshman Nick Rosselli (Assonet, Mass.) followed in 159th with a time of 29:25.80, while junior Jackson Day (Stamford, Conn.) completed the course in 29:32.95, good for 162nd overall.
Junior Jacob Eberli (Ludlow, Mass.) finished two spots behind Day in 164th place, earning a time of 29:38.96, and senior Adam Monroe (Wilton, N.Y.) crossed the finish line 187th in 30:33.75.
