Men’s Cross Country Finishes Seventh at CCC Championship

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Western New England University men's cross country team ran to a seventh place finish at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Saturday at Colt State Park.

The Golden Bears posted a team score of 162 on their way to seventh place in the eight-team field. The University of New England captured the CCC title with a score of 38, followed by Wentworth (76) and Nichols (82). UNE junior Jacob Hickey paced the 106-runner field with a time of 24:50.52 on the eight-kilometer course.

Western New England was led by sophomore Anthony Spooner (West Bridgewater, Mass.), who finished 25th overall and earned a time of 27:40.36.

Junior Jackson Day (Stamford, Conn.) came in one spot after Spooner, finishing 26th in 27:43.67. Classmate Jacob Eberli (Ludlow, Mass.) wasn't far behind with his 29th place performance with a time of 27:56.14.

Sophomore Kyle O'Hern (Lincoln, R.I.) finished 44th and clocked in at 28:47.37, while senior Adam Monroe (Wilton, N.Y.) placed 48th in 29:00.77.

Western New England wraps up its 2019 season at the NCAA New England Regional Championship on Saturday, November 16th.
