Men’s Cross Country Wraps up Season at NCAA Regional Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Western New England University men's cross country team wrapped up its 2019 season at the NCAA New England Regional Championship on Saturday afternoon at Bowdoin College.

The Golden Bears posted a team score of 1159 on their way to a 38th place finish. Williams captured the team title with a score of 24. Rounding out the top three were Colby (93) and MIT (107). Williams junior Aidan Ryan took home the individual title with a time of 24:51.

Western New England was led by sophomore Anthony Spooner (West Bridgewater, Mass.), who finished 206th with a time of 28:28. 

Junior Jackson Day (Stamford, Conn.) crossed the finish line with a time of 28:38, finishing in 215th place. Finishing one spot behind was junior Jacob Eberli (Ludlow, Mass.) with a time of 28:42.

Senior Adam Monroe (Wilton, N.Y.) ran a time of 29:31, finishing in 260th place. Following two spots later in 262nd was freshman Nick Rosselli (Assonet, Mass.), who posted a time of 29:32.

Rounding out Western New England's runners were sophomore Kyle O'Hern (Lincoln, R.I.) and Joey Africano (Alexandria, Va.), finishing 289th and 317th, respectively, with times of 30:07 and 31:24.
