Men’s Cross Country Runs to 11th Place Finish at Western New England Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 19, 2019) – The Western New England University men's cross country team hosted its annual Invitational on campus Saturday morning, turning in an 11th place finish.
The Golden Bears posted a team score of 281 en route to 11th place in the 15-team field. Bridgewater State won the team title (64), followed by the University of New England (74) and Worcester State (94). UNE's Jacob Hickey finished first in the 182-runner field with a time of 25:43 on the eight-kilometer course.
Western New England's top performer was freshman Nick Rosselli (Assonet, Mass.), who placed 47th overall and clocked in with a time of 28:24.
Junior Jackson Day (Stamford, Conn.) finished 55th in 28:34, followed by sophomore Anthony Spooner (West Bridgewater, Mass.), who placed 66th with a time of 29:00.
