Field Hockey Places Four on NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 16, 2023) – The Western New England Field Hockey team placed four on the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division III Scholars of Distinction list, as announced of the NFCHA. 

This year, more than 470 student athletes have been recognized as an NFCHA Division III Scholar of Distinction. The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year. 

The Golden Bears placed sophomore Amanda Burns (Attleboro, Mass.), Paige Remington (Suffield, Conn.), Zoey Wexler (Manchester, Conn.), Olyvia Whyte (Milford, Mass.) all were named to the list of distinction. 

Two NFHCA awards remain to be announced, with the NFHCA National Academic Team award being announced on February 21, followed by the National Scholar-Athlete on February 22.
