Women’s Lacrosse Scores 16 First Half Goals in Win over Curry

MILTON, Mass. (April 17, 2021) – The Western New England University women's lacrosse team scored 16 first half goals in their 21-7 win over Curry in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Top Performers
Senior Reilly Miller led the Golden Bears with four goals and one assist. Juniors Hannah Jarvis, Samantha Vitka, Liz Mazza, and first-year Ally Ferraro each scored three goals.

Chloe Chevrier and Katie Parker each scored two goals for the Colonels.

Game Review
Western New England started off strong, scoring three goals inside of the first 90 seconds. After Chevrier scored to get Curry on the board at the 27:41 mark, the Golden Bears scored the next four goals over a two-minute period to give Western New England a 7-1 lead. The Golden Bears outscored the Colonels 9-4 over the remainder of the first half to take a 16-5 lead into halftime.

Western New England carried that momentum into the second half, as they scored the first four goals of the half to push their lead to 20-5. Junior Madisyn Crotta grabbed a goal later in the half for the Golden Bears as they finished out the game.
