Women’s Tennis Competes in Hilton Head
HILTON HEAD, South Carolina (March 15, 2022) – The Western New England women's tennis team made a rare appearance in the spring season, falling to Webster University by a final score of 7-2.
How it Happened:
The Golden Bears were unable to come up with a doubles victory on the afternoon, going 0-3. Sydney Lewis and Michelle McDermott would fall 6-5 in doubles action while Aliza McLeish and Arriana Hasiuk would fall in a close 8-6 battle.
Sydney Lewis would put on a show in singles action, defeating Navone Armstrong 7-6, 4-6, 10-8 in three thrilling sets to get the Golden Bears their one of two victories on the afternoon. Michelle McDermott would take down Chole Daughtry of Webster University 6-2,6-4 for the other Golden Bears win.
As of now, Western New England will return to the court in the fall of 2022 with no other spring scheduled matches at this time.
