JESSICA CATE AND ASHLEY O'KEEFE RECEIVE WEEKLY GNAC AWARDS

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Western New England College senior Jessica Cate (Ocean Grove, NJ) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Volleyball Player-of-the-Week on Monday (Nov. 1).

Cate, a psychology major, compiled 21 kills in victories over conference opponents Albertus Magnus College and Daniel Webster College on "Senior Day."

Freshman Ashley O'Keefe (South Dennis, MA) was named the GNAC Rookie-of-the-Week. A sport management major, O'Keefe stepped into the starting setter role against Eastern Connecticut State University and came through with 48 assists and eight blocks in the 3-2 road victory.

The Golden Bears (19-14) finished third in the conference during the regular season with an 8-2 mark.
