FRESHMAN ASHLEY O'KEEFE NAMED WNEC FEMALE ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Freshman Ashley O'Keefe (Dennis, MA) was honored Tuesday (Oct. 12) as the Western New England College Female Athlete-of-the-Week.

O'Keefe, a middle hitter, compiled 47 kills, 24 blocks, 11 assists, seven digs, and six aces in five matches to earn a spot on the Eastern Connecticut Crabtree Classic All-Tournament Team.

With O'Keefe leading the way, the Golden Bears won three of five matches at the event to finish third among eight schools.

O'Keefe leads the squad in hitting percentage (.350), kills (209), and blocks (115). She is a sport management major. WNEC (16-8) leads the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with a 6-0 mark.
