Breau & Bannon tally three points each for Golden Bears
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (April 17, 2019) – The Western New England University men's lacrosse team had its four-game winning streak snapped with a 19-7 setback to No. 8 nationally ranked Williams College on Wednesday evening at Farley-Lamb Field.
Top Performers
Senior Tim Breau (Lima, N.Y.) and freshman Mike Bannon (Edmond, Okla.) led the Golden Bears with three points each, while sophomore Matt Greer (South Windsor, Conn.) chipped in with one goal and one assist.
Williams received six-point performances from junior Kevin Stump (Allentown, Pa.) and freshman Jake Haase (Wayland, Mass.), as Stump scored four goals to go with a pair of assists, and Haase netted two goals while dishing out four helpers.
Game Review
After junior Oskar Djusberg (Abington, Mass.) opened the scoring for the Golden Bears just 13 seconds into the contest, Williams reeled off four straight goals, with one each from Haase and Stump, to open up a 4-1 lead. Senior Hunter Cocks (Walden, N.Y.) found the back of the net for Western New England at the 8:50 mark of the opening frame, as the Golden Bears trailed 4-2 after one quarter.
Stump tallied the second of two Ephs goals early in the second quarter as the home team extended its advantage to 6-2, before Breau scored twice for the Golden Bears to bring the margin back down to two.
Williams closed out the half with four unanswered goals over the final 4:41, however, to increase their lead to six (10-4) at the break.
The Ephs continued to pull away in the second half, outscoring Western New England 3-2 in the third quarter and 6-1 in the fourth to push the final margin to 12.

• Williams outshot Western New England 56-20 and held a 19-11 faceoff advantage.
• Bannon, who has recorded multiple points in all 15 games this season, ranks second on the team with 48 points.
