Hunter Cocks Earns Spot in USILA Senior All-Star Game

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 23, 2019) – Western New England University senior faceoff specialist Hunter Cocks (Walden, N.Y.) has been selected to compete in the 2019 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III North-South Senior All-Star Game on Friday (May 24) at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md.

The Division III contest is scheduled for 5 p.m., with the Division I/II matchup slated to follow at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and both games will be streamed by Lax Sports Network.

Cocks is among 68 of the nation's top senior men's lacrosse student-athletes to be selected for the prestigious USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game, and one of just six faceoff specialists.

The Walden, N.Y. native wrapped up his impressive career this spring and will go down as one of the top faceoff specialists in Western New England men's lacrosse history.

Cocks earned USILA All-America honorable mention and All-CCC first team honors this season after winning 293-of-447 faceoffs for a .655 percentage that led the conference and ranked 24th in NCAA Division III. He also ranked 18th nationally with 9.20 ground balls per game (184 total ground balls) and recorded a career-high 12 points with seven goals and five assists.

Over the course of his four-year career, Cocks appeared in 60 games, winning 684 faceoffs in 1,080 attempts (.633). He compiled 421 ground balls and finished with 33 points on 20 goals and 13 assists. Cocks was a member of three CCC championship teams, winning back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019.

Senior attackman Jared Ward (Littleton, Mass.) was also selected to the USILA Senior All-Star Game, but will be unable to compete due to injury.
