Jessie-Gerelli Named CCC Goaltender of the Week for Second Straight Time

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 8, 2021) – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) league office announced their weekly awards today, finding Rieley Jessie-Gerelli on the list for the second straight week as the women's ice hockey goaltender of the week. 

Jessie-Gerelli guided the Golden Bears to a win on Friday, November 5 at Curry College where she made 40 saves while giving up just one goal in the 2-1 win for Western New England. Jessie-Gerelli made the start on the very next night for Western New England against the same Colonels of Curry College making another 40 saves for the Golden Bears, coming up with a .930 save percentage. 

On the season, Jessie-Gerelli has made three starts, including in the inaugural game of the women's ice hockey program for Western New England. She has posted a 2-1 record so far this season while making 101 saves through those three games. Jessie-Gerelli has posted a 1.33 goals against average (GAA) and a .962 save percentage while allowing just four goals this season. 

Jessie-Gerelli and the Western New England women's ice hockey team will be back in action on Friday, November 12 at 8:10 pm from Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Arena when they take on Worcester State University in exhibition action before returning home to Olympia Ice Arena on Saturday, November 13 at 7:00 to take on the same Lancers team in regular season play.
