Murphy Named CCC Women's Ice Hockey Player/Rookie of the Week

BIDDEFORD, Maine (December 6, 2021) – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) office announced today their slew of weekly awards which included Alyssa Murphy as the women's ice hockey Player/Rookie of the Week. 

Murphy collected three goals on the weekend on the way to a 1-1 split with the Nor'easters of the University of New England for the Golden Bears. Murphy tallied the Golden Bears lone goal on Friday night and followed up that performance by scoring two goals in a third period come from behind win on Saturday. 

On the season, Murphy has tallied a team best six goals while adding one assists, good for seven points on the season, which is tied for the team lead. Murphy has collected three powerplay goals, two game winning goals, including Saturday night's game winner with 3:03 remaining in the contest. Murphy has taken 48 shots on the season while dotting a +3 on the ice. 

The Golden Bears will wrap up their 2021 portion of their schedule on Tuesday, December 7  from the Olympia Ice Center at 7:00 pm when they host No. 8 Suffolk University.
