Allison Bruehwiler Receives Second CCC Rookie of the Week Award
Old Saybrook, Conn. native scored fifth goal of the season in Saturday's 1-1 draw with UNE
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 22, 2018) – Freshman forward Allison Bruehwiler (Old Saybrook, Conn.) of the Western New England University women's soccer team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Bruehwiler scored Western New England's lone goal in the 30th minute of Saturday's 1-1 draw with the University of New England at Suprenant Field.
Bruehwiler, who posted two-goal efforts in wins at Mount Holyoke (Sept. 11) and against Gordon (Oct. 6) earlier this season, ranks second on the team in both goals (five) and points (13).
Western New England (8-7-2, 4-1-2 CCC) wraps up its regular season schedule on the road at Roger Williams on Tuesday night. The Golden Bears will open the CCC Tournament with a quarterfinal contest on Saturday.
