Erin Grimes Earns Spot in NEWISA Senior Bowl

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 28, 2018) – Senior defender Erin Grimes (Attleboro, Mass.) of the Western New England University women's soccer team has been selected to the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl, which will be held on Saturday (12/1) at 12 p.m. on the campus of Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass.

Grimes, who will be unable to compete due to an injury sustained late in the season, is among 25 of the top Division III senior student-athletes to earn a spot in the all-start game. The NEWISA Senior Bowl features seniors from colleges and universities representing all three NCAA Divisions.

This past season, Grimes started all 19 of the games that she appeared in and earned All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) first team accolades.

Over the course of her four-year career, Grimes appeared in 64 matches, making 64 starts. She helped lead Western New England to appearances in the CCC championship and semifinal contests the past two seasons, respectively.

A four-year starter, two-year captain and two-time All-CCC selection, Grimes is set to graduate in May with a degree in civil engineering.
