Men’s Golf Hosts WNE Invitational
WILBRAHAM, Mass. (April 16, 2022) – The Western New England men's golf team hosted their first invitational of the spring season on Saturday afternoon, coming in 7th place of seven teams from the Wilbraham Country Club. Tufts University took home first place, while Amherst's Steven Chen was crowned champion of the afternoon.
The Golden Bears were led by Colin Richmond, who shot an 80 on the afternoon for the Golden Bears. Ryne Salius finished two strikes behind his teammate, completeing an 82 on the afternoon on the course. Ryan Schlehuber, Dylan Fortunado, and Dominic Manning also competed for Western New England on the afternoon.
Tufts University was the overall champion of the afternoon, finishing with a 297 total score, winning the afternoon by 13 strikes over second place Nichols College. Trinity (Conn.) University, Springfield College, Roger Williams University, Amherst College and Wentworth Institute would all compete in the invitational.
