Women’s Swimming Opens Season Against Eastern Connecticut State University

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 13, 2021) – The Western New England University women's swimming team opened their season with a virtual meet against Eastern Connecticut State University on Saturday afternoon at the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Junior Avery Hill (North Haven, Conn.) led the way for the Golden Bears, collecting 10 points on the day while taking first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:24.94.

Senior Hannah Manolis (West Hartford, Conn.) recorded a personal best time of 1:10.06 in the 100-yard freestyle event. During the 1000-yard freestyle, Manolis' split times in the 200-yard and 500-yard were also personal bests.

Western New England will take on Plymouth State in a virtual meet on Thursday.
