Five Golden Bears Notch PR’s Against Keene State
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 27, 2021) – The Western New England University women's swimming team had several student-athletes achieve personal best times during their virtual meet against Keene State College on Saturday afternoon at the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center.
First-year Hailey Dion (Nashua, N.H.) led the way for the Golden Bears with eight individual points, while senior Hannah Manolis (West Hartford, Conn.), sophomore Renee Lussier (Northampton, Mass.), and first-year Haley Peacock (Meriden, Conn.) each scored seven points.
Dion achieved a personal best time of 28.97 in the 50-yard freestyle event. Manolis swam personal bests in the 100-yard backstroke portion of the medley relay and the 500-yard freestyle with times of 1:16.30 and 6:46.79, respectively.
Junior Avery Hill (North Haven, Conn.) grabbed a personal best time of 3:04.19 in the 200-yard breaststroke event, while junior Hannah Martin (Ludlow, Mass.) swam a personal best time of 36.80 in the 50-yard backstroke event and Peacock's time of 1:19.17 in the 100-yard individual was her personal best.
