Western New England Lands Four on All-CCC Teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 24, 2020) – Four members of the Western New England University  men's basketball team were honored when the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its major award winners and All-CCC selections on Monday evening.

Junior guard Alex Sikorski earned All-CCC first team honors. Senior guard Mike McGuire (Garden City, N.Y.) collected All-CCC second team honors, while senior guard Tim Reilly (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and junior forward Zachary Tavitian (Milford, Conn.) were voted to the All-CCC third team.

Sikorski received All-CCC honors for the first time in his career. He is averaging 19.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game this season. Sikorski's 19.1 points place him fifth in the CCC in scoring. Sikorski has scored in double figures in all but two games this season. On February 15, Sikorski scored his 1,000th career point in a 98-88 win over the University of New England. 

McGuire earned All-CCC honors for the second straight season after earning All-CCC third team honors in 2018-19. McGuire is averaging 16.4 points per game this season. His 4.75 assist to turnover ratio ranks second in Division III. On November 30, McGuire scored his 1,000th career point in a 93-79 win over Roger Williams.

Reilly collected All-CCC honors for the first time in his career. Reilly is averaging 14.0 points per game this season. On January 18, he scored a career high 30 points in a 92-74 win over the University of New England. 

Tavitian is currently averaging 14.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season. Tavitian has achieved seven double-doubles this season. 

Western New England (15-10) hosts Gordon on Tuesday evening at the Alumni Healthful Living Center in the CCC Tournament quarterfinals.
