Game Review
Kistner gave the Golden Bears a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when she doubled to drive in Cooney, who reached on an error to lead off the frame.

Calvin pulled ahead in the top of the second, however, on Quiggle's two-run shot to right center field.

The Knights added a run to their advantage (3-1) in the top of the third, but in the bottom half of the inning Western New England freshman Dina DiBlasio (Norwalk, Conn.) and Kistner both recorded RBI singles and DiBlasio later scored on an error to put the Golden Bears back in front, 4-3.

Western New England then utilized timely two-out hitting in the fourth to extend its lead to 7-3. Cooney and Buzzeo recorded consecutive one-out singles, and after DiBlasio struck out, Kistner walked to load the bases. Decker came up next and reached on an error that brought in Cooney from third, before freshman Jamie Cookingham (Warner, N.H.) delivered a two-run double to right center.

Calvin scored twice in the top of the fifth to cut its deficit to two (7-5), but Kistner drove in her third run in the bottom of the inning to make it a three-run game.

Western New England junior Paige Uliase (Meriden, Conn.) came on to pitch the sixth and gave up one run, but stranded two runners on base before retiring the side in order in the seventh to seal the win.
