How it Happened:

After losing their first four games of the season, the Albertus Magnus College Falcons have won three straight heading into the Stovepipe Championship game while the Golden Bears were able to defeat the hosting SNHU Penmen to earn their way into Sunday's championship match. The Falcons would light the lamp twice in the first period as Ryan Colwell and Tyler Ignazzitto would score a goal each to go up quickly 2-0 after the first 20 minutes of play. After earning the 3-2 win in yesterday's upset win, Anthony Aureliano made his second straight for WNE making 16 saves in the opening period. WNE was out shot 18-8 in the first 20 minutes.

The Golden Bears took control of the offense to start the second period of play and were rewarded with their first goal of the game when Marko Bohatiuk took a feed from Connor Geshan and Connor Leach to cut the Falcons lead in half. The Golden Bears center picks up his second goal of the season. Albertus was able to capitalize on a powerplay chance just six minutes after Western New England's tally to give themselves back the two-goal lead. Aureliano made an additional 16 saves in the period.

Sam Anderson would light the lamp for the Falcons with eight minutes to play in the third period to give Albertus Magnus the all-important three goal lead, followed by an empty net tally from Owen Allan to seal the win for the Falcons by a final score of 5-1. Albertus Magnus would outshoot WNE 14-11 in the period for a three-period total of 49-29 in favor of Albertus Magnus in the contest.
