BOSTON, Mass. (April 3, 2021) – The Western New England University men's lacrosse team defeated Wentworth 16-6 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at Sweeney Field.
Top Performers
Junior Noah Rust and junior Mike Bannon each scored three goals for the Golden Bears. Sophomore Dylan Hanley scored two goals and provided three assists.
Senior Andrew diPalma scored two goals and dished out one assist for the Leopards.
Game Review
Western New England jumped out to an early 3-1 lead just over five minutes into the game, with two goals from Rust. The Golden Bears kept their foot on the gas, pushing the lead to 9-3 with just two minutes remaining in the first half.
The Leopards scored two goals in the last 20 seconds in the first half, but Western New England answered by outscoring Wentworth 3-0 in the third quarter. The Golden Bears continued their dominance into the fourth, where they outscored the Leopards 4-1.
