DUDLEY, Mass. (April 28, 2021) – The Western New England University men's lacrosse defeated Nichols, 18-9, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Wednesday afternoon.
Top Performers
Junior Mike Bannon led the Golden Bears with three goals and five assists. Senior Jared Newall scored two goals, while graduate student Nick Gamba, seniors Conor Tracy and Brendan Lyons, and junior Noah Rust each scored two goals. Senior Kevin Faustich had four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Sophomore Sean Farland went 8-for-8 on faceoffs.
Ryan Warner and Brendan Coates each scored three goals for the Bison.
Game Review
The Golden Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead midway through the first quarter before the Bison grabbed two goals to cut the deficit to one. Western New England responded by scoring seven goals in the second quarter, including two from Tracy, to take a 10-4 lead into the second half.
The Golden Bears exploded for another eight goals in the second half, including two from Rust and Lyons.
