DUDLEY, Mass. (September 22, 2018) – Senior midfielder Josh Loomis (Jefferson, N.J.) scored the game-tying goal with less than 13 minutes remaining in regulation and the Western New England University men's soccer team went on to earn a 1-1 draw with Nichols College on Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Vendetti Field.

Top Performers
Loomis accounted for Western New England's only goal, which came on a feed from senior midfielder Nick Liccardi (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.). Liccardi also recorded team-highs in both shots (six) and shots on goal (four).

Senior goalkeeper Sam Brewer (Westford, Mass.) stopped five of the six shots that he faced.

Nichols' lone goal came courtesy of freshman Evan Lemoine (Rutland, Mass.), while senior goalkeeper Patrick Porpora (Westminster, Mass.) made 12 saves.

Game Review
After a scoreless opening half, Lemoine got the Bison on the board in the 68th minute when he received a pass from junior Chris Noga (Belchertown, Mass.) and snuck a shot past Brewer.

Western New England would capitalize when the Nichols defense failed to clear the ball in the 78th minute and Liccardi found Loomis for the equalizer.

Neither team was able to score over the remainder of regulation or the two ten-minute overtime periods, however, as the contest ended in a 1-1 draw.

Notes
• Western New England is unbeaten in its last seven matches with a 5-0-2 record.
• The Golden Bears outshot the Bison 25-17, including 16-6 in the second half.
