O’Neill Named to 2022 United Soccer Coaches Men’s Scholar All-East Region Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (December 20, 2022) – Western New England men's soccer graduate midfielder Sean O'Neill picked up more end of the year accolades from the United Soccer Coaches, this time earning 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-East Region honors. 

O'Neill will graduate from Western New England with a degree in political science after achieving a 3.47 GPA during the fall 2022 season. The Belchertown, Massachusetts native collected All-East Region second team for his accomplishments. O'Neill is one of six members of the Commonwealth Coast Conference to earn accolades from the United Soccer Coaches Association. 

Over 37 games played with the Golden Bears in his two-year career, O'Neill scored three goals and added eight assists, good for 14 total points. The midfielder placed 25 shots on goal, taking 50 total shots. O'Neilland the Golden Bears won their first CCC Tournament game this season since 2017 after defeating Nichols College 2-1 at Suprenant Field. O'Neill was recently named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team, on top of collecting CCC Defensive Player of the Year and All-CCC First Team accolades. 

WNE wrapped up their season with a 10-7-3 record, marking a 6-3 conference record.
