Golden Bears Fall to Endicott on Senior Day, 4-0

Brooke Labrie, Samantha Emmert, Katelyn Cummings & Brittney White honored prior to start of the game

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 15, 2016) – The Western New England University women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback to Endicott College on senior day this morning in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Suprenant Field.

Prior to the start of the game, Western New England honored its four seniors, Brooke Labrie (Granby, Mass.), Samantha Emmert (Hyde Park, N.Y.) and captains Katelyn Cummings (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and Brittney White (Milford, N.H.).

Top Performers
• Cummings, who was one of two Golden Bears to play all 90 minutes, was responsible for Western New England's only shot on goal with her free kick in the 72nd minute.

• Endicott freshman forward Hannah Pesci (Windham, N.H.) netted a pair of goals for the Gulls.

Match Review
• Endicott jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when sophomore midfielder Sharlotte Pernice (West Springfield, Mass.) headed home a corner kick taken by classmate Abigail Silverstein (Katonah, N.Y.).
• The Gulls doubled their advantage at the 42:16 mark on freshman midfielder Larissa Cade's (Middlefield, Conn.) fourth goal of the season.
• Pesci notched her first goal of the contest in the 69th minute, before capping the scoring with another tally at the 72:27 mark.

Notes
• Endicott outshot Western New England 13-3 and held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
• Sophomore Marissa Veilleux (Newington, Conn.) and freshman Alexandra Lemekha (Stamford, Conn.) played 45 minutes each in goal, combining to make six saves.

Both teams will be back in action on Wednesday, as Western New England (5-9-2, 2-4 CCC) hosts Curry and Endicott (10-2-2, 5-1 CCC) returns home to take on the University of New England.
