Game Review
The majority of the first half was a defensive battle, with just two goals scored over the opening 18 minutes of play.

Jarvis got the Golden Bears on the board with an assist from freshman Liz Mazza (East Longmeadow, Mass.) just over two minutes into the contest, and the Western New England defense kept the Hawks quiet until Stoeppel scored on a feed from freshman Madi Drain (Waterboro, Maine) at the 19:03 mark.

Roger Williams pulled ahead on Stoeppel's second goal of the game with 11:26 remaining in the half, and the Golden Bears tied the score for the second time as junior Ariella Ruggiero (Valhalla, N.Y.) set up Breen with 4:02 on the clock.

The Hawks utilized a late 4-0 surge to open up a 6-2 advantage at the break, however. Junior Ashley Warren (Wilmington, Mass.) converted a free position attempt at the 3:17 mark, while Gillis (2:23), Erickson (0:38) and Stoeppel (0:16) followed with unassisted strikes to extend the Roger Williams lead heading into halftime.

The visitors continued to add to their lead with goals from Erickson (28:33) and Stoeppel (22:34) early in the second half.

Roger Williams outscored Western New England 5-0 the rest of the way, while the Hawks defense kept the Golden Bears off the scoreboard as the final margin grew to 11.

• Roger Williams outshot Western New England 34-20, and the Hawks held a 12-5 edge in draw controls.
